“Perfect Day” by the renowned singer-songwriter, Lori Lieberman (best known as original singer/writer of the hit song “Killing Me Softly”). Produced by LowSwing Records founder Guy Sternberg at his famous LowSwing Studio,Berlin, the album contains Lieberman’s unique interpretations of songs by Lou Reed, The Cure, Tracy Chapman, Scott Walker and more, as well as two of her own heartfelt compositions.
The famous UK artist Fink joins Lori on a duet for the title song, Perfect Day by Lou Reed. Another duet on this record is Burden and Gift, a song written by Lieberman and Wendy Waldman, features another LowSwings’ recording artist, Alon Lotringer.
The A team musicians who were cast perfectly for this ambitious project and whose talents contributed to the excitement and authentic feel that is a clear part of this record are: drummer Earl Harvin (Seal, Tindersticks, Jeff Beck), pianist Doron Segal (Fink), famous Jazz bassist Oliver Potratz, Iceland’s phenomenal guitarist, Daniel Böðvarsson and on bass clarinet, James Scannell.
The record was mastered and cut to lacquer at 45rpm at Emil Berlin Studios and later pressed at Optimal Media using the unique “One Step Processing” assuring crystal clear transients and high frequencies on the record.
This Limited numbered edition will be released on November 29th 2024 on vinyl only .
Due to a human error at the pressing Plant records 1-1000 are mark as 0001/2000 to 1000/2000 while records 1001-2000 are marked as 0001/1000 to 1000/1000 The reason for the mistake seems to be that due to the “One Step” process the first 1000 records were made from one stamper while the last 1000 from another stamper. We apologize for this misprint!
